High In The Desert

Some initial goodness out of Bend – Crawfy and Brianna top 5 crit finishes, Brianna wins the TT to move up to 2nd overall with points. And we know she can climb like a bullet, but the race is short, so we’ll see. Crawfy snared a point in the TT too. The men’s 4/5 team is Atlin, Joe, Barker, and Conley helped in the Crit before retiring to the breweries. All good, more to come.

Tabor Goodness

Sorry a bit late, folks! Tabor this week was another hum dinger and now the summer heat’s arrival is finally affecting some races and boiling some brains. Mmmmm, brains.

Our new recruit Brianna Walle kept up the clean slate of wins at Tabor in her first ever year of bike racing. After a few more crits and close-combat racing to ensure safety, we’re sure the upgrade looms. Tabor is kind of weird like that. Dave Roth got some good pictures. And Vanessa Cass got her best ever finish at Tabor, finishing second making it an Ironclad 1-2. Well done ladies.

In the Senior Men’s race we had Cat 2 racers Drew Willis and Trevor Spahr duking it out with Willis posting up a fine 9th place! Nice job Drew! p.s. – we weren’t blocking.

Atlin Sestrich raced the 5′s, and Mark Koller raced the 4′s and both survived.

In the women’s open we had Anona, The Ace, and the newly upgraded Stephanie Croy throwing punches and finishing 5th, 6th, and 7th. Nice work ladies! Again, Dave Roth got a good pic of Anona and The Ace in action.

This weekend sees some long training rides, some cold beers, some High Desert Omnium action, and of course, we hope, a Dutch win in the World Cup final. Hup Holland!

Was That The Hardest PIR Ever?

Kinda feels like it.

In the 1/2/3, about 157,000 riders DNF”d, but Harwood managed 8th. In the 3/4, it must have looked like a monkey trying to fuck a football for half the race until a suitable break went up the road. Good christ that was tough. Windy, hot, fun. Ace 8th!

Post race Mexican food and a fire took care of every little thing.

Give ‘Em Hell, Mike!

We wish Mike Murray all the luck today as he goes under the knife for bypass surgery at Providence. Good luck Mike, and good luck Candi.

We look forward to a grumpy post on the OBRA board soon, to let us know you’re ok, old boy.

Murderhorn Subdued

Well alrighty then. Murderhorn. Pwned.

Johannes was 7th in the 3′s, Atlin 2nd in the 5′s, and Brianna won the women’s 4 with Steph 2nd or 3rd and Vanessa somewhere top ten (although OBRA has this field’s results completely off at press time, soon to be fixed). Anona and Ace raced with the senior women.  Koller raced the 4′s.
