First year Ironclad rider Joe Leineweber took a giant leap in his short career by winning his first ever prime last night in the midsummer criterium race hosted by Team O, nice work Joe!
Sure, it’s a chick’s jersey, too small and very blue. Not “the” jersey but “a” jersey. But while Joe can’t use it, his talented and lovely wife Ky can, so hey, maybe Joe went a little further to staying out of the doghouse next time he’s due to go!
All’s well that ends well. We had Joe and Barker duking it out in the final race of the series, and both finished pretty well!

with the winnings and a message for cancer
Greg Hudson posted a fine 2nd place finish on Monday in the Master’s 4/5 race, and tonight in the 3/4 Jeff Harwood slotted 1st with Trevor Spahr 2nd in another PIR win. 4 in a row for the black and yellow on Tuesdays in the 3/4 with assist from Lana Pressey and Dave Dezellum! Nice work, lads and lass.
Checking for pics, hopefully more info later, but GOOD JOB lads!
Poor Trevor….he crashed Friday, then watched Crawfy crash and puncture his lung. Then the poor kid had his car stolen. Again. Yes, it’s been stolen before….so sad.
But all was righted on Sunday as he won the Gresham Crit (formerly the State Championship course) in fine fashion along with the help of Voytilla and Dezellum. Way to turn around the luck and pick your teammates up, Travis!
In the women’s race the lone Ironclady Deann Krill dug out a fine 3rd place finish in a nice sized field. Well done, Deann!
In the men’s 4′s we had Joe and Hudson digging out upright finishes for the team.

Yes, we’re talkin’ to you.
Our squad took some lumps at the Twilight Crit, as once again crowds and nerves made half the peloton forget how to ride their bikes. Sadly, Crawfy got caught up behind an emptying clown car of “I can’t corner anymore” and managed to go down and get himself a nifty pnuemothorax (that’s fancy talk for a punctured lung).
Like the poor bastard needs anymore medical funsies in his household. Shit.
Anyhow, he’s healing up alright, and Kira hasn’t killed him yet (we don’t think).
Get better yo!

shit to hit fan in 5, 4, 3, 2……
Masters, Women’s 4, 1/2/3, and 4/5 all had some Ironclad riders in them a the 2nd of 3 midsummer criteriums out in Hillsboro. Dezellum took 8th in the masters, Lana 2nd in the 4′s, Crawfy 8th in the 1.2.3, and then Dave managed 6th in the 4/5 with the help of Joe, Barker, Q, and Hudson in a somewhat snarky race. Look, dudes, you can flare out before turns. The official even said so at the start. And to those making the effort to get into a break – less talking, more pedaling. Crapping Christ! But, there were no wrecks and everyone finished safely, so all in all one can’t complain.
Anyhoo, Lana has some pics coming very shortly, and we’ll throw some up here in a jiffy.
But that course with the two 180′s is a hoot, great roads, great course, definitely make the effort to make the last one next week! It’s worth it! Thanks Team O!
Tuesday’s PIR in the 3/4 race saw Ironclad again with a numbers advantage, and again making full use of it. The referees had decided on the root canal of formats – the points race, whereby every lap is a hot spot, and every lap is points for the 1st three riders over the line.
Calling the audible at the start line to briefly ammend the plan, the group of nearly 50 set off in finally agreeable temperatures. And then the bloodshed started early, and often.
The team had extra legs last night, as afterward was our team photo shoot, one that Kira couldn’t make because the sickness was getting the better of her. So, while we’d like to think we be formidable on any given day, last night was a mission. No one else was going to win but us. And to solidify matters, we decided to go 1st and 2nd. Names don’t matter, everyone did their job, it was a total team effort.
Last night, we all had one name.
That one was for you, Kira.
Newsflash: Ironclad dominated the top of the table for the July series in the 3/4 race at PIR, with Jeff Harwood taking top honors and Ryan Smith 3rd to put two on the overall “podium”, with Weber, Dezellum, and Monnig all slotting into the top ten. 5 of 10 places. Not too shabby!
To the fray! Onward to the fray! Once more into the breach! Or something like that, Bill……
PIR begins its August death throes, and Short Track went flatline last night, but not without some good dirt action and a good party. While we didn’t have much dirt representation last night aside from Hudson, we had three souls on the pavement with Barker and Dave in the 4/5 and Lana racing the women’s open.
Lana managed 4th, and Dave managed 2nd with Brian’s help, missing 1st by a tire width. Dang.
But what’s most important is that Lana has seen the light!

Cubs woo! Cubs woo! Cubs woo!
